YET ANOTHER OLD PEOPLES WEDDDING: PARAGUAYAN COUPLE TOGETHER FOR 80 YEARS FINALLY DECIDES TO GET MARRIED

It seems our very old people have decided to make it official in the site of God and getting married at old age has become the order of the day. Earlier this month I posted about Uk's Ted Parsons and Jean Reed who got married after 20yrs of Courting. Today A paraguayan couple raised the bar, they got married after 80years of being together.

Culled from Fox News Latino

By most accounts, it was a traditional wedding ceremony. The bride wore a white gown with flowers woven into her hair. The groom opted for a dress shirt. They held hands as the priest conducted the ceremony. But this wasn’t just any regular wedding. Jose Manuel Riella, the groom, is 103 years old. The bride, Martina Lopez, is 99. The Paraguayans have been together for 80 years, and have eight children together, but they had never tied the knot in the eyes of the church. So they decided, after eight decades, to make their union official. Riella married Lopez Saturday in the backyard of their home, some 200 miles north of the capital, Asuncion. Priest Christian Paiva led the religious ceremony and he told The Associated Press Wednesday that the couple had been married by law for 40 years but not by the church."My children asked us why we didn't get married, what are you waiting for, they asked," Lopez said. Riella, who was in a wheelchair, has some hearing problems but still recognizes his family members. His wife still takes care of all home chores. The couple has 50 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren. All but two of their children were able to attend the big day.The couple exchanged rings during the ceremony, needing a little assistance from family members to get them on.
"We are very happy," Lopez said, as guests lined up to offer their congratulations and gifts to the couple. After the ceremony, the couple posed for family photos.

It's here again the season of love, weddings and marriage. It has been a lovely Royalty Blog year as we shared lovely photos and beautiful love stories from our Royal couples. Okay let's get right into it, where's my wedding bells?

READY BUT STILL WAITING

I have something to say, hmmmmmmm, I have something to say.... Listen! Listen pay full attention for I have something to say...... Ehennnnnn so let me land. When I dropped my first note this year " Same wish-list as every year" it was focused on the unmarried young lady and this led me straight to my next thoughts which i'm about to share with you. You know I always like to look at the flip side of every story, so my focus is undoubtedly focused on the unmarried brothers. When I write I draw my inspiration/findings from real life everyday  people and experiences that everyone can relate with, it doesn't necessarily have to be about me but I clearly like to state my opinion on life issues as I see or perceive them. *wink* Now  Prince charming got it all working for him, a good family, a great job, a nice apartment, may or may not have a car, perfect gentle man, ladies man, and goes to church at le ast every sunday. He's mature and respectful, he's always
