The mum-of-three told a friend: “I've had enough. I want a divorce.”Kym, 37, allegedly had a five-month affair with Corrie doctor Mellor starting just five months after marrying former Hollyoaks hunk Jamie, 33, now in EastEnders.
Kym was seen on Saturday without her wedding ring for the first time since news of her alleged affair broke, told a pal: “Jamie’s behaviour has been erratic, at best, for some time now. This is the only option.”Her friend said: “I think Kym has known for a long time, in her hearts of hearts, that things weren’t going to work out. "The bust-up at their house a few weeks ago was the final straw. It left Kym frightened for her safety. She can’t live like that.”Kym is especially worried for her children. The couple have daughter Polly, 2, and she has son David, 18, and daughter Emily, 15, from a previous relationship.
The pal said: “She desperately tried to make the marriage work for the sake of their daughter but it’s become obvious that things can’t continue."Kym’s only focus now is her children. To say she is devastated is an understatement. Anyone who knows Kym can’t believe she would have an affair.
“She loved Jamie with all of her heart but sadly it looks like there is no going back.”Kym – Michelle Connor in the ITV soap – is staying with a friend after fleeing the couple’s home in Worsley, Greater Manchester, over fears Jamie would erupt following the affair allegations.
