Simple Tips for Cutting down The Wedding Guest List

Congratulations on your engagement, this is the beginning of your happily ever after, one of the process of your wedding planning is putting the guest list together. In the western world people stick strictly to their guest list/numbers however in some African countries precisely Nigeria, all and sundry are welcomed,  friends of friends of the couple are invited as well as friends of couple's siblings whether or not they will be well catered for.

While it would be ideal to invite all your friends and family, budget constrains often can make that impossible to achieve. Many factors should be considered when preparing the wedding guest list. But if you're the conservative type and intends to have a small and concise guest list here are some simple tips to help you.

  1. You and your Fiancé must be in agreement on the said number of guest to be invited and can thus allocate specific numbers to each sides. However whichever family is responsible for the wedding payments, either grooms' or bride's family should be considered a great deal when guest number allocation is being done as they'll have a say. But if the bride and groom are paying for their wedding then they can allocate specific numbers to their families and entreat them to stick to the plan.
  2. When the list is compiled and its still a little over your target guest number, start by eliminating unfamiliar names, but check with your partner, families and in-laws.
  3. Feel free to eliminate distant friends and relatives that you hardly see or haven't spoken to in years. Eliminate those distant friends and relatives who lives in a different state from where the wedding ceremony will be happening. Some of them might probably just send in their gifts and avoid the trouble of traveling.
  4. If cutting down the guest list is proving abortive, make a change of plan and have a destination wedding. With this only close family members and friends will come along and you'll have your desired small and intimate wedding, with little cost depending on the destination.
Wishing you all the best in your Guest list preparation.

THE TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE PHOTOS: PJ WEDS SUNNY

From the massive traffic at Festac town yesterday, you could tell that something was happening and the obvious questions were "what is happening", "who are they", "where're they from" And bla bla blah...lol...It's Josephine Enemor and Sunny Ihesiaba's traditional marriage. It was a colourful, classy and a typical igbo traditional wedding, as both couples are from the eastern part of Nigeria. Everyone was in red, white and gold attires especially the stunning bride in her gold lace, red george with circle patterned embriodery, and a stony glittering gold purse, the groom looking smart and dashing, men in red cap and beautiful maidens in array. I can go on and on about the event and you can be assured that it was funfilled as Royalty Okasions were in charge *wink*... Click HERE  to view their wedding website.
