OUR LOVE TALE
Mercy Tells...
Our love started long before Djedje and I ever met. And when you think about it, most love stories starts that way. Every
moment leading up to the one in which you meet your future husband or wife somehow shapes and prepares you for that special someone. Any previous heartbreak, dark days and lonely nights can be crucially important in the grand scheme of things. Sometimes, we need to know what something feels like when it's wrong, before we can really know and appreciate when another is RIGHT.

*Warning..this is very detailed and a bit lenghty...grab a bottle of coke..lol*
Okay, it all happened on the 20th of May 2010, during my convocation party. Lots of handsome dudes and pretty damsels were all over the party arena, friends invited friends, relatives and siblings to the occasion. A good friend of mine had earlier told us that her handsome and wadded brothers would be attending and we were all curious. The party went on fine, until one of my friend's brother approached me asking for my phone number. Though the lights were so bright and I could barely see his face, still I didn't hesitate, with a smile, I gave him my contact.

Few weeks after, we were to have our first date, I was pretty anxious and my imaginations grew wide. I got dressed in my favorite short skirt and blue top and I looked stunning.."I think"  All my friends envied and named all kind of snacks they wanted. Before I could say *Jack* he had come to pick me up and I had no time to eat anything,  "who cares, it"s a date anyway, so food shouldn't be a problem"...I thought.  We headed for a restaurant/bar around Port Harcourt main city.
Hmmmmmmm our first date wasn't as magical as I thought it would be. First, he ordered drink for me without asking for my choice of drink, then we had a few chats, I faked some smiles, My tummy rumbled in hunger as I watched others enjoy their meal, then we left after our bottles were empty. I became even more furious, when he dropped me a stone throw from my house, paid a cab to drop me off, collected his balance and off he went. There and then I decided I'll never see him again. But like they say.."never say never".

Months passed, he kept calling my phone but I didn't take it or returned his calls. I felt he was dry and doesn't have even an atom of Romance. Though he came in search of me but I turned deaf ears to his numerous proposals. I had given up on him.
Two years later, and by this time a lot has happened in my life already and as I pondered in my thought on this faithful day, my phone beeped. Oh no! Same Djedje guy, after all this time, he won't give up. We had a little chat, he kept proposing and all, finally all that came out of my mouth was "I will pray about it".

This was a guy I never loved, I just prayed and immediately, a feeling of strong bound emerged. I called him later,  and told him I had accepted. He was so excited and called almost everyone he knew to share the good news. Since then our love for each other became so intense. We never stopped praying and we will keep praying. It's been God's grace and intervention all the way. Now, I'm marrying my friend's brother...hahahaha didn't see that coming..from friends to sister-in-laws

THE PROPOSAL
Djedje Tells....

From the moment she accepted to be my girl, I knew I wanted to spend my life with her and would never let her go. I had thought of the best means/strategies to propose to this queen of my heart, to have loved ones around and at the same time pull off a beautiful suprise.
Bingo! the perfect opportunity came, Dec. 21st 2013, It was her elder sister's traditional marriage and since our families are already close, all the people I would love to be present were on ground. There was a marriage after- party at a hotel/Karaoke bar not so far from her father's house and everyone was present except my lady. She had been up and about tidying up after the marriage ceremony.

Prior to this time she had suspected an engagement but thought it was my younger brother who would be proposing, as she had earlier helped him to purchase his girlfriend's engagement ring. Unknown to her the same lady had also purchased her own engagement ring. She had no clue, whatsover. I had to call up her friends to bring her to the venue, whichever way they can. Lol..I can remember how she came in with her hair a bit rumpled and in a bathroom slippers.."Oh no..she will kill me for this but well a surprise is a surprise" I thought. The music changed and so was the mood, I got down on one knee right behind her, and there was a loud scream, she turned to see what it was Viola! it was I (her knight in shinning armour) bearing precious rings before her and asking her to marry me. She was so shy, she covered her face in her palms, blushed and then she said YES! I couldn't have been more happier, the moments she said yes, we hugged, smiled and here we are now.

If i fly, I fly with you

READY BUT STILL WAITING

I have something to say, hmmmmmmm, I have something to say.... Listen! Listen pay full attention for I have something to say...... Ehennnnnn so let me land. When I dropped my first note this year " Same wish-list as every year" it was focused on the unmarried young lady and this led me straight to my next thoughts which i'm about to share with you. You know I always like to look at the flip side of every story, so my focus is undoubtedly focused on the unmarried brothers. When I write I draw my inspiration/findings from real life everyday  people and experiences that everyone can relate with, it doesn't necessarily have to be about me but I clearly like to state my opinion on life issues as I see or perceive them. *wink* Now  Prince charming got it all working for him, a good family, a great job, a nice apartment, may or may not have a car, perfect gentle man, ladies man, and goes to church at le ast every sunday. He's mature and respectful, he's always...
